About Cropcare
The best agronomy requires a comprehensive understanding of both output and the factors affecting output (agronomical factors). Technological advances give us the ability to measure, record and analyse more of these agronomical factors than ever before. Each field is a production factory and efficiency is the key to making the factory profitable, the best agronomy is one of the foundation stones.
As well as this, there are mounting environmental pressures, increased restrictions and constantly changing label recommendations. This makes the responsibilities for those involved in advice on agronomy and the application of pesticides ever more demanding. CSC Cropcare realises the essential nature of “getting it right”.
Detailed Crop Record Keeping on Cropwalker from Muddy Boots Software.
Widely recognised as the most advanced crop management system available, Cropwalker records all aspects of the crop production cycle. From seed procurement and assessment to produce storage and despatch, information is captured to fully account for actions and provide full crop traceability. Your crop records can be stored on CropWalker via your CSC Cropcare agronomist’s computer. This will build into an essential database allowing your agronomist to assess and analyse your data, helping them to constantly improve the agronomy of your farm.
Other benefits of CropWalker are:-
- Powerful auditing and auto-checking
- Fully interactive compatibility with CropWalker FM (farmer module) to ensure records are built up quicker and easier by avoiding duplication of data input.
- Comprehensive reporting capability to provide full traceability from crop establishment to harvest and storage and key information for SQC, Assured Produce and other industry protocols.
Weather Station Data from CSC Cropcare’s Weather Station Network.
Pest attack, disease spread and final yield potential are all dependent on weather as is the activity of many pesticides. Our ability to measure these factors locally will improve prediction systems, aid with water management and irrigation scheduling and can be cross-referenced against the detailed crop records.
Crop Performance Analysis By comparing output with the comprehensive database of yield output, we can provide crop performance analysis and help to identify optimum input levels.
Research is ongoing, looking at and analysing all available research, trial results, technical information and novel solutions. Agronomy never stands still and the aim must be to constantly seek out potential new and better solutions. We will continue to carry out local trials to help assess this data and its applicability to our climate and geography.
Crop Bulletins provide topical updates on crops, giving general application advice, seasonal disease risk, control options and general advice. Detailed advice will come from your CSC Cropcare agronomist, taking into account the topography, location and rotation of each farm.
Newsflashes report on localised disease and pest outbreaks. Weather risk events and data can be communicated.
Information Sheets give updates on specific topics relating to pests, diseases, nutrition, resistance, ICM approaches etc. (i.e. Manganese Info Sheet, Black Dot info sheet).
Building a databank of cultural, nutritional and rotational techniques to reduce the need for pesticide inputs.
Disease Risk Assessment (Disease Scouting)
Including field risk – variety, sowing date, infection levels etc.
seasonal risk – weather data, local infection levels etc.
Weed Risk Assessment (Weed Scouting)
Including field risk – past history by crop type, data recorded etc.
seasonal risk – species predominating by crop and area etc.
Pest Risk Assessment (Pest Scouting)
Including field risk – crop type, past history, sowing date etc.
seasonal risk – pest levels by area and season etc.
